Policy

Draw anything.
Export what's fit to share.

Alekhya does not export nudity or sexual content. The line is the one most of the world already uses: no visible nipples on a woman, no genitals, and no sex, in any medium.

Not allowed in an export

  • Visible nudity

A woman's bare breasts with the nipples visible, or anyone's genitals — whether drawn, painted, sculpted, modelled in 3D, animated, or brought in as a photo or video.

  • Sexual content

Sexual acts, or artwork made to be sexually explicit, in any style — realistic, stylised, cartoon or anime.

  • Anything sexual involving a minor

Never, in any form, including characters who are drawn or described as children. This is illegal almost everywhere, and we report it to the authorities where the law requires.

Fine to export

  • Swimwear, underwear and fitted costumes
  • A man's bare chest
  • Clothed figures in any pose, including dance and action
  • Anatomy studies of muscles, bones and proportion
  • Figures whose nudity is covered or not visible
  • Mannequins and smooth, featureless 3D bodies

Where the check runs

Alekhya checks your artwork only when it leaves the app: exporting an image, a movie or an image sequence; exporting a sequence from the Editor; and exporting a project or shot file. Drawing, painting, sculpting and playback are never checked or slowed down.

The check runs entirely on your iPad. Your artwork is not uploaded, not stored anywhere else, and not seen by anyone. Nothing about the check is sent to us.

When an export is stopped

The export stops and nothing is written. Alekhya tells you which frames were flagged and why, and takes you to the first one. Change the artwork — cover or remove what was flagged — and export again. There is no way to skip the check.

For project and shot files, the check looks at each shot's saved thumbnail and the project cover.

If the check gets it wrong

The check is automatic and can make mistakes. It is built to follow the rules above and nothing stricter. If your work was stopped and you think it should not have been, tell us through the feedback page or at hello@alekhya.net. Describe what you drew; only attach the artwork if you are comfortable sharing it. We use these reports to improve the check.

Misuse

You may not use Alekhya to create, export or distribute content this policy does not allow. You also may not try to get around the check — by modifying the app, tampering with its files, or any other means.

If you do, your licence to use Alekhya may be ended without notice. Sexual content involving minors, and other content that breaks the law, may be reported to law enforcement. Offences like these carry heavy penalties, including imprisonment and fines. In India these include the Information Technology Act, 2000 (sections 67, 67A and 67B) and the POCSO Act, 2012. Similar laws apply in other countries.

You are responsible for what you create and share with Alekhya, and for any legal consequences that follow from it.

Changes

We may update this policy as Alekhya changes. The date below shows the latest version. Continuing to use Alekhya after a change means you accept the updated policy.
