Eraser
The pixel eraser — what it rubs out across raster ink, fills and tubes, which layer it acts on, and how its mark is fixed.

The Eraser is a pixel eraser, not a stroke deleter. Dragging it over a mark rubs out the pixels under the tip and leaves the stroke in place, still editable, still carrying whatever the tip did not reach. A stroke is never removed from the layer because you erased part of it.
Each gesture stamps erase-dabs into a working copy of every targeted stroke's own tiles, so overlapping strokes that are not targeted are untouched, and the whole drag — however long — collapses to a single undo step.
What it erases
The eraser handles four substrates, and the difference matters when you are erasing something that is not flat ink.

The mark
The eraser's footprint is not brush-driven. It reads the tool's Size and nothing else:
- Opacity is always 1. Every erase dab is stamped at full strength, which is why there is no opacity control anywhere for this tool.
- Hardness is fixed at 0.5. The dab has a soft falloff, so full opacity is the centre of the tip rather than a hard cookie-cutter edge.
- There is no pressure response. The radius is exactly half the tool size, regardless of how hard the pen is pressed.
The Eraser's Sub Tool list
While the Eraser is held, the Sub Tool panel displays the paint brush library. Selecting a row there changes the Draw tool's brush; it does not change the eraser's mark. There is no eraser brush in the library, and erasing reads none of a brush's settings.
Which strokes it acts on
Two rules decide what a drag reaches.
The active draw target only. Erasing stays on the layer you are painting on. It does not reach the parent layer, sibling sub-layers, or the mask. A paint clip mask does not constrain the eraser.
A depth shell, locked for the gesture. Under the tip, the eraser rubs out everything within a depth band rather than only the nearest stroke — a fill you are inside of sits at zero distance and would otherwise always win, making the outlines drawn on top of it impossible to erase. The band is anchored to the shallowest depth seen so far in the drag and held for the rest of it, so a fold's front planes stay erasable while a wall well behind them does not. On a flat single-plane layer every stroke ties for front and the shell does nothing.
Tool Options
The eraser's diameter, on a logarithmic scale. The size is viewport-relative. This is the only control that changes what the eraser does.
There is no opacity, hardness, falloff or strength control for the Eraser anywhere in the application.
QuickStrip
The strip shows Size only, plus the colour well that is present for every tool. There is deliberately no Opacity slider: every eraser dab is stamped at opacity 1, and a slider that did nothing would be worse than no slider.
Brush Settings
The Tip section shows the Size knob and one line — "Drag over ink to erase it. More eraser options are in Tool Options." The panel header reads Eraser. None of the paint sections appear, because none of them affect erasing.
